Returning healing to the hands of women
Returning to the Circle
Circle is an ancient way of being, and is part of the healing process in many corners of the Earth.
To gather in circle is to honour the cycle of life, the symbolism woven with our fundamental existence: birth — life — death.
This is a cultivated space where you arrive with what is present.
To be with the grief, laughter, love, pain, friendship or hope. This is where community heals, in spaces where you are heard.
The root system of this circle is inhabitation of your truth.
Each circle will journey through arrival, witnessing, expression and closing.

Your sister in circle, Ila.
Sitting in circle with women changed my life.
With a releasing breath, something deep within me cracked open.
I truly felt the landing of: I don't need to abandon my truth, or depth, to belong.
You see, the women who gather in the circles hold deep levels of awareness and presence. I believe this healed something so deep within the well of my heart.
To be known and seen, at the beginning of my path in this work, was enough to make me sob, a full puddle of tears on the floor.
Not just the surface-level 'hi, how are ya' chat, as someone continues to walk by, but a gaze so deep you feel taken aback, like wow.
These experiences shaped the heart of the work I cultivate: to be known and woven with community. It is sacred, and truly enlivens your spirit.
So the invitation here is to practise deep witnessing, within your own landscape and with others. This is the practice.
My prayer is that when the circle closes, you feel this deep sense of peace.
Feeling truly human, and connected to deeper parts of your world.

How to Arrive
-
During Circle, practise arriving completely as you are.
There is no pressure within this space, acknowledge your needs and receive what you need.
Before We Begin:
Join the Zoom room a few minutes early and take a few belly breaths as you come into circle.
If it feels nourishing you can create a sacred space, with some cosy items to make you feel most comfortable. I use a candle, a sheepskin rug, and a pillow below my hips.
Find a quiet space for you to journey, and feel safe.
What to gather:
Water
Journal and pen
All that I am is welcome to be. All that I hear is welcome to be. All that I feel is welcome to be. Just as I am.

Entering circle, we honour the agreements that nurture loving awareness and safe kinship between us all.
Here is the agreement.
We honour confidentiality.
We practice deep listening, without the need to fix or provide solutions.
We share from our own experience.
We take responsibility for our own needs and boundaries. If you need to go toilet, go! No need to ask here.
We respect the diversity and individuality of each woman, and her experience ~ we can learn so much from one another.
These agreements are practised by all women who enter circle. Together, we co-create a healing space for women to be held, so this thread is always open.
If an agreement is not being honoured, I will respectfully address this to uphold the integrity of our shared space.
